New play coming to Dixon Place Theater
I'm excited to share that I will be working with Spindrift Theater and the talented Sólveig Eva on the upcoming play “We’ll Dance on the Ash of the Apocalypse” at Dixon Place Theater this upcoming March.
Written by Melissa-Kelly Franklin, the play tells the story of a young couple, living in a world ravaged by climate change, that are faced with a terrifying prospect - an unplanned pregnancy. Together they must decide whether they can bring a defenseless child into a seemingly hopeless world.
This new original play by Australian playwright Melissa-Kelly Franklin was written as a response to climate change and the attack against women's reproductive rights in 2019. The play aims to continue the discussion on global warming through love of humanity, hope against the odds and passion to act now to create the future we desire. Spindrift is overseeing a staged reading at Dixon Place in Lower Manhattan on March 28th under the direction of Sólveig Eva with assistant director Anne Windsland of New Winds Production, featuring Chris Nester as the Young Man and Léerin Campbell.
